Scenic beauty of Bandarban


Scenery of bandarban is really mind blowing.The nature setting of this little township rich is tribal heritage. Its flora and fauna, bamboo cottages its ethnic peoples and their life style have made this picturesque hilly resort a popular destination of tourist. Here has the unique privilage of having two hight peaks of the country, the Keokaradang (4000feet) and the Tazingdang (4632feet).

Chimbuk hill is a unique and different kind of tourist attraction in Banderban. It is called the Darjeeling of Bangal. It is 2000feet high from the sea level. It is 25km. away to the south of Bandarban town with zigzag road and view of Sangu river. The visitor can touch the cloud by hand. Another attraction of Bandarban are Bagakain lake, Prantik lake, beauty of Sangu river, Rijuk waterfall, Rajbihar, Tribaql museum, Meghla tourist spot Etc.

Historical events are The British rulers declared Bandarban as a forest zone because of its vast forest area devoid of human settlement. The Arakanese were permanently settled in Bandarban after the British ascendancy in Arakan. Bandarban is the district headquarters of the Bandarban Hill District. Bandarban is the home town of the Bohmong Chief who is the head of the Mogh tribe. The Moghs are of Myanmar origin and Buddhists by religion. Jovial and carefree by nature, the Moghs are simple and hospitable people. Bandarban is also the home of the Murangs who are famous for their music and dance. Fat into the interior there are several other tribes of great interest for anyone who cares to make the journey.
